How long does shower installation take?

Timeline depends on the project scope. A simple prefab install might take 2-3 days. A full tub-to-shower conversion typically takes 5-7 days. Custom tile showers can take 7-10 days or more depending on complexity. We’ll provide a realistic timeline during consultation.

Can I use my bathroom during the project?

The toilet and vanity typically remain usable throughout most of the project. However, the shower/tub will be out of commission for the duration. If this is your only bathroom, plan to use a gym or neighbor’s shower, or we can discuss expedited scheduling.

Do you need a permit for shower installation?

Permit requirements depend on the scope of work. Simple fixture replacements typically don’t require permits. Major plumbing changes, structural modifications, or moving drain locations usually do. We handle permits when required and ensure all work is code-compliant.

Can I pick out my own tile and fixtures?

Absolutely. Many customers enjoy selecting their own materials. We can provide guidance on what works well, or you can shop independently. Just ensure tile arrives before your scheduled start date—delays in materials delay the project.

What’s the difference between a shower pan and a tile-ready base?

A prefab shower pan is a one-piece molded base (acrylic or fiberglass) that’s ready to use. A tile-ready base (or mortar bed) is a sloped, waterproof substrate designed to be tiled over. Tile-ready allows custom tile floors but costs more. We install both.

Do you install glass shower doors?

Yes. We install framed, semi-frameless, and frameless glass shower doors and enclosures. Glass is typically one of the final steps after tile work is complete. We can help you choose the right style and configuration for your shower.
